4 August 2024, a Rose Ceremony was held at the Sky Temple site – in remembrance of our ancestors. We celebrated the Rose Ceremony with chanting, floral reminders of our parents and a beautiful lunch prepared by the generous community.
“…The Rose Ceremony is not only to give rise to gratitude toward your Mother and Father. You must know how to practice looking deeply, that is, practice meditation on that day. We must see what talents, virtues, and beauties we have received from our Father and Mother. Then we see that Father and Mother are not outside of us, but are within us. I am the continuation of my Father, I am the continuation of my Mother. And I bring them to the future. We must know how to smile for Mother, breathe for Father and walk for both. Continuing them beautifully is the most concrete expression of our gratitude.” (Thich Nhat Hanh. Source: “A rose for your pocket” plumvillage.org)
